Prediction software for better planning
Accurate predictions for hospitals and emergency rooms ease planning, saves money and reduces stress.
Thanks to the accurate predictions of PrecisionMedic hospitals and Emergency Rooms can improve on various parameters.
PrecisionMedic algorithms are specifically developed to identify patterns in data and uses them to predict how busy the near future will be. Based on information about usual levels of busyness, major events, weather conditions, and many other sources, it calculates how busy the upcoming period is likely to be.
It might sound too good to be true, but we can prove that we are right. Our system has been operational since August 2022 in the emergency department of a large Danish university hospital—one of the largest and most complex emergency departments in the country—and we get it right. The system is now integrated into daily operations and used by several staff groups to plan their workdays.

PrecisionMedic algorithms are specifically developed to identify patterns in data and uses them to predict how busy the near future will be. Based on information about usual levels of busyness, major events, weather conditions, and many other sources, it calculates how busy the upcoming period is likely to be.
If there are sick leaves reported, the system is used to assess whether additional staff should be called in or if they can keep their days off. And if things are busy, the system helps evaluate whether the busyness will be short-lived and the present staff can handle the tasks, or if the busyness will be prolonged, requiring extra resources to ensure tasks can be completed safely for the patients.
In busy moments, maintaining efficiency is critical. When tasks exceed staff capacity, there’s a risk of delays that can impact patient care, leading to longer admissions and increased complications. While healthcare professionals are highly skilled at managing demands, extreme surges can push the limits. To address this, staff rely on our predictive models. If the increase in activity is short-lived, they can manage effectively until the workload subsides. However, for prolonged periods of high demand, the models guide decisions to call in additional staff or reallocate resources from other hospital departments, ensuring patient safety and quality care.
Although patients tend to arrive following certain patterns (mostly late afternoon and early evening), it can vary significantly. Therefore, the staff use the system to plan their workday. When should they take breaks? When will they have time to tidy up? When should they eat? The system assists with optimizing this planning.
